“ Great food at a great price. Takes me back to growing up in a small, tiny Iowa town. Good home cooking but up a notch. They can cook seafood and I'm not at the coast!!!! This is my vets favorite restaurant and I'm glad his wife recommended it. Not a lot of options out in the middle of the country. Great service with caring, welcoming people. A popular local hangout. A must stop when traveling in the area. ”

“ Was there last week and very disappointed with service and wait staff. Had reservations, was there on time, our party waited at door for 15 minutes without being recognized. When we finally were recognized, there was not a table ready, so we waited until was set up for 4. Once seated another 10 to 15 minutes went by before someone came to the table to see if we would like something to drink. We ordered apps and only 3 came out leaving the 4th person waiting for a cup of soup. We asked about it and were told she couldn't get it until it was put up. Waiter was not very personable. Over the years I have been here many times and never had such service. It was my daughter's first time and I don't think the Red Schoolhouse will be on the top of the list to dine out. She was very disappointed and so was I. ”
